Trail Description
From the starting point of Niederau, the Markbachjoch lift takes care of the first climb of the day. The route follows numerous hairpin bends and via the Grafenweg path speedily down to Hopfgarten and the cable car in the direction of the Hohe Salve. You leave this at the Tennwirt guesthouse, crank a few more uphill metres and then fly down narrow switchbacks into the valley and through the village with its imposing parish church.
From Hopfgarten the route heads south along the valley towards Westendorf and the Alpenrosenbahn. From the top lift station at the Talkaser, you head north and then east at the Choralpe and later north again, down to Brixen im Thale to the Hochbrixen gondola. After a short detour to the enchanting Lake Filzalmsee near the top lift station, the fast asphalt run leads back to the valley. Here you can let the breaks finally cool down on way to Kirchberg.
